INTERCULTURAL TOLERANCE AND INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION: STUDENT SURVEY

The article analyzes the results of the study of the current state of intercultural tolerance and cross-cultural communication of students of higher educational institutions of Ukraine.
The results of research of the current state of intercultural tolerance and intercultural communication of students have shown that these components of intercultural education in higher educational institutions of Ukraine is the average level of expression. It should be noted that a significant percentage of undecided respondents in their answers to the questions, for example, 43.2% are hesitant in answering the question «How do you treat manifestations of intercultural intolerance?»; 30,9% hesitated to answer the question «What is your attitude to migrants in Ukraine?», 32.7% hesitate in answering the question «What is your attitude to the refugees?». That indicates the need for intensive promotion of youth involvement in the culture of a people, forming the ability to cross-cultural communication and use of all the possibilities of extracurricular work in higher education for intercultural education of students .
The author notes that according to the study results the majority of respondents believe that belonging to different cultures leads to significant differences in speech, contextual and behavioral levels, which in turn greatly influences the interaction between different cultures. That is why it is necessary to teach a young man of tolerance, respectful and tolerant attitude to the culture and religion of the Other, the ability to cross-cultural communication, which will help prevent international conflicts.
