In the article there have been specified the peculiarities of implementation of the competence-based approach in the vocational training process of economists to be at the universities of Azerbaijan; there has been generalised the experience of economic education at universities of Azerbaijan, where the quintet “knowledge - abilities - skills - experience of the activity – competence” is being realised; there has been analysed the approach considering realisation of vocational training of economists to be at universities in Azerbaijan through the content continuum of economic education and labour market demand at the macro and micro levels. In the article there has been substantiated that the training process of the economists to be at the universities of Azerbaijan is adjusted at macro and micro levels. The macroeconomic level sets the strategy of economic development of the country, which is becoming an important “player” in the global economic system. Azerbaijan is oriented towards the development of grant-related tools of the support of economic research projects to attract scholars, talented young people to implement programs of global and national significance into the field of the economy and energy resources. At the microeconomic level, higher economic education in Azerbaijan provides academic mobility of students along with the integration of the national education system into the world scientific and educational space. At the same, the emphasis is put on the national experience of a market economy development and educational traditions of Azerbaijan, which correlates with the normative and the variable part of educational programs and ensures its regular updating with the latest changes in culture, economy, science, engineering and technology, opportunities of continuity of economic education done lifelong, integration of education, science and production, distance education development. All these steps are aimed at making Azerbaijan become a developed and competitive country which is in need of further steps in training the quality specialists in the field of economy.References
